As is always the case being a Melbournian, you need to be prepared for all weather conditions. On a good day you will get constant weather, but on most occasions, the weather will turn from good to bad to ugly and then back to good.
After yesterday's weather antics, I have made a mental note to always bring an umbrella with me, even if the weather is forecast for 35 degrees!

Looking at the weather forecast for this weekend, it's time to bring out the winter coats, long pants and jumpers!
Like the pictures above, I love dark colours and simplicity. Don't you?

FOOD | WOODSTOCK CAFE

I am a lover of food, perhaps even an addict. I spend my spare time unapologetically searching for the latest hot cafe and scrolling through copious amounts of food photos on Instagram, so much so that sometimes I wonder whether they have a support group for fellow food addicts- 'Food Lovers Anonymous' anyone?

I always tell anyone who will listen that I have a severe case of 'FOMO'- fear of missing out!
With many Melbourne cafes boating a seasonal menu, my FOMO tends to flare up quite regularly and you will regularly find me at a cafe on weekends.

Having woken up early on a Saturday morning to do a quick airport drop off, I seized the opportunity to have breakfast at one of my favourite cafe's Woodstock.
Located on High St, Armadale, I always hit this cafe when I feel like a 'classic', no-fuss breakfast.
None of this flavoured hollandaise (although they do serve a lime hollandaise on their menu), or fruit done so many different ways that you didn't even know it could be done that way (which seems to be all the rage amongst Melbourne cafes as of late). For those occasions you feel like a simple breakfast/brunch then Woodstock in Armadale is the place to go.

The menu boasts the usual suspects- fruit salad, croissants, muesli, pancakes..the list goes on. With all that choice and after many "ums" and "oohs", and  a lot of indecisiveness, I finally settled on their omelette dish (a tough decision given the large variety on offer).

Three fluffy buttery eggs, topped with smoked bacon, cherry tomatoes and beetroot relish. A sprinkling of rocket on top, provided a freshness that cut through the richness and heaviness of the egg-bacon combination.

The servings here at Woodstock are generous, so much so that I have not been able to completely finish a dish in its entirety- thank god for T as he is always willing to finish my dish for me. And, moderately priced, it is certainly value for money.

If it's simplicity that you're after then look no further than Woodstock Armadale. Like the historic Woodstock Festival of 69', this cafe is certainly memorable.

S W I M W E A R

Keeping in the summer theme, below are some of my favourite bikinis that I have found in my daily search of the perfect summer 'kini'.

Clockwise: Zimmerman, Triangl, Jetts, Zimmerman, Zimmerman, NLP

As summer rolls around every year, I always begin my hunt for yet another pair of bathers to add to my growing collection.
I love bright colours and bold prints and of course floral! Though lately I have been embracing monochrome, stripes and all things simple.

I already know which pair of bikinis I have my eye on. Do you?

In the words of Nelly- "it's getting hot in here"
Summer has well and truly arrived Down Under.
Feelin' hot, hot, hot!

2014....The Year that Was

Being the 1st January, 2015, I thought I would reflect on the year that has just passed.

This has been a year of surprises and challenges.

My year started off with a wedding, bringing together all my family for the first time in a very long time.

I met a cousin, who I now absolutely adore.

I turned my back on a career path I thought I had wanted since the age of 11 and embarked on a PhD, which at my age is a pretty daunting task.

I graduated, and saw my significant other graduate.

I started a new career, which has been the most challenging and at times, downright frustrating experience. It has opened my eyes to a world which before I was perhaps ignorant to.

I moved out of home for the first time, and that in itself has been my biggest challenge, but one that has been worthwhile and rewarding.

As a self-confessed shopaholic I adopted the motto of "you don't really need it." Much to my surprise it helped, and to the sadness of my wardrobe, I decreased my spending and maximised my savings.

I travelled (it's a must) and experienced some once in a lifetime experiences.

All in all, 2014 went way too fast. It was a whirlwind year, with many turns and surprises that I am glad to have experienced, as it has made me stronger and wiser.
Thank you to all those people who have supported me unconditionally throughout the year. Thank you to all those people who I have met along the way.

Bring on 2015!

A new year, a new 'me', and a new blog.

Happy New Year.
